VAF SHAPOLI

EEXI compliant without limits

EEXI compliant without limits

Per the first of January 2023, all sailing vessels above 400 GT falling under MARPOL Annex VI must adhere to the latest regulations on Energy Efficiency Existing Ship Index (EEXI) set by the international Maritime Organization (IMO) to regulate the efficiency of propulsion energy. To comply with these EEXI regulations, most sailing vessels are required to restrict their propulsion power. With the VAF Shaft Power Limitation (ShaPoLi) Solution, you are well-prepared to sail on the limit, without limits.

WE PRESENT:
SHAFT POWER LIMITATION (SHAPOLI)

The VAF ShaPoLi Solution guarantees the accurate recording and limitation of your actual power to meet the allowed EEXI maximum. Our comprehensive solution consists of three components:

  • Shaft Power/ Torque Meter (T-sense®):
Monitors shaft power accurately (optional, as our ShaPoLi is also compatible with third-party torque meters)
  • Data Collection Box (SDB-3)
Central unit for efficient data collection.
  • Bridge panel PC for data visualization and Crew Interfacing (SBP-3)
User-friendly interface for seamless interaction with the system.

In emergency situations, for enhanced safety, you can promptly utilize the engine power reserve. ShaPoLi provides visual and audible alarms when the EEXI power limit is exceeded. Automatic data logging of these events ensures that Port State Control (PSC) can always verify your actions.

By offering insights into shaft power, the system plays a key role in keeping the vessel within its prescribed EEXI limits. If power surpasses the EEXI limit, the system issues both audible and visual alarms, logging the event. This enables the crew to swiftly address the situation and restore the vessel to its required level of efficiency.

With type approval by the major classification societies, you are assured of the operational safety and security. The VAF ShaPoLi data logging box SDB-3 and Bridge Panel PC SBP-3 are standardized solutions that comply with the strict EEXI regulations and are recognized by the PSC.

  • Engine independent “One size fits all” solution
  • MEPC.335(76) and IACS Rec 172 compliant
  • Allows for instant use of power reserve by the crew on the bridge, providing the safest solution
  • No interference with the engine control system
  • Can be installed before the EEXI limit is known
  • Drives CO2 reduction and CII improvements
